THICK FOG is a series of zines I’m writing/editing. Our first issue is coming out this summer!
Fuck whining, fuck shameless self promotion. I’m using this goddamn site for productivity!
So quit looking at archives of my embarrassing ex selfish fanboy and look at what I have to share about music, writing, and the...

I LOVE THE DUM DUM GIRLS SONG JAIL LA LA
Yeah. Come play in San Francisco on your tour with Girls
so, I've decided that...
it’s not worth going to washed out and small black and pictureplane tonight, because it’s later than i thought, and more expensive at the door than i thought. they double the price on the night of…and I have to save for wondercon, other gigs, and buying new records and stuff at thrift stores.
i was going to go mostly because I haven’t been to rickshaw stop, and I...
do you think it's worth going to see washed out...
washed out and small black and pictureplane...
yay. excited for all three.
THE XX AT THE GREAT AMERICAN MUSIC HALL
JUNE 1ST AND 2ND
I have no guilt about missing the Hot Chip show now.
Washed Out/Small Black
At Rickshaw Stop. Sunday Night. Ten Bucks. 7 pm.
Says sold out on website, but there are still limited tickets at the door.
Worth trying to get in at least, right?
I love The Microphones a little too much.
You all, do yourself a favor, and listen to The Glow Pt. 2
It’s Dave Longstreth of The Dirty Projectors’ favorite album of the 2000’s
Sun Was High, So Was I
-“BEST” BEST COAST SONG
Carrie Brownstein is God.
I discern her word whenever I need affirmation on my music tastes.
Except for our major dissagreement on the XX.
I love you NPR MUSIC. I want to be you right now so I can go to SXSW and write about it.
Vampire Weekend Have Commercials Now
Which pretty much defends my reason for not wanting to see them in concert.
Guys, you aren’t Bruce Springsteen, you can’t get away with that shit and still look good.
I was listening to Titus Andronicus and then zoned out, then came back and asked myself “how did I get to listening to Conor Oberst?” I was really still listening to Titus Andronicus.
The similarity is so weird.
set set that crown on the ground
I love sleigh bells and I love this song
I AM GOING TO SEE THOM YORKE ON APRIL 15TH AND I...
Joanna Newsom when she announces her SF show and all 3 nights of Yo La Tengo.

the sandwitches are from san francisco
and I love them.
oh—-and one reason why I spent an extra $15 on that album-‘twas their last copy at amoeba.
I bought this on vinyl because I love the album artwork
and the title
and the band name
Now I’m broke.

9.2 EVERYBODY

I am listening to my homemade soul compilation from this awesome record store in the lower haight:
It’s called Classic Girl Group Sounds. I feel so happy…
Sadie White coat You carry me home And bury this bone And take this pinecone Bury this bone To gnaw on it later, gnawing on the telephone And ‘till then, we pray and suspend The notion that these lives do never end And all day long we talk about mercy Lead me to water Lord, I sure am thirsty Down in the ditch where I nearly served you Up in the clouds where he almost heard you And all that...
are you fucking kidding me?
I have to wait another day for the Joanna Newsom album review. This is what Pitchfork do. I should have expected that from them…
THEY FEED ANTICIPATION.
Now I get what Canada means when she says “I’m going to stab you all”
I feel the same way…
I am so excited for the new Joanna Newsom that you DON’T understand.
It’s unhealthy my nausea of anticipation for the Pitchfork review.
AND MY PURCHASE OF THE TRIPLE LP.
TRIPLE LP. Now that’s worth vinyl.
I’ve decided that I like tumblr and I would like to get back in the habit of using it.
No promises.
the new MGMT album has a song called “Lady Dada’s Nightmare.” Guessing it refers to the dada abstract movement. Nothing to with Andy Warhol, Lady Gaga!
And they have a song called “Brian Eno.” HAHAHAHAHAHA.
I have this good idea and it’s consistency should work, but I won’t make any promises:
this is my poetry and photography blog, and my wordpress is my fiction/journalism/commentary blog.
To support this I’ll leave you with something I archived from a trip to Aardvark Books in The Best American Non Required Reading 2004 (way before we had the student selection committee)

Sorry
I think I’m going to transfer all my writing to Wordpress. Tumblr really isn’t for writing in general, so I will excerpt creative pieces, poems, quotes, and when I get my 35 mm and new digital for concert/trip photos (!!!), then photography. The blog will involve more of the theme that is quoted at the top “found art.” Less description, more thinking for the reader.
Coachella
THE FAKE POSTER
Sadly, there is no White Stripes, Arcade Fire, Feist, M.I.A., Lady Gaga, David Bowie, or The Knife, Blur, PJ Harvey, or Soundgraden as rumored.
THE REAL POSTER
YAY for Thom Yorke, PAVEMENT!!!!, Vampire Weekend, LCD Soundsystem, Vampire Weekend, Gorillaz, Phoenix, Spoon, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Sly and the Family Stone, Yo La Tengo, The Dead Weather, Hot Chip, Gossip, The xx,...
Beach House, A Hazy "Teen Dream"
Rating: Why do I even bother. Just don’t scroll to the…
Best Track: “Silver Soul” (10-Highest Track Rating)
Alright, before we glorify this much anticipated album (as much as we like to), we have to be analytical and third person at first, and without a doubt, talk about the multi-layered textures of the force of nature voice Victoria Legrand has inherited. On their...
Final Fantasy...Finally!
oh, whoops, it’s…Owen Pallett
Rating: You get the drill. Best Track: “Tryst With Mephistopheles” It’s hard to be ever so analytical about the music being expressed, feelings portrayed, the arrangements and their significance in music made by Owen Pallett. We can only describe through an accurate lens our interpreted messages, ones that affect us so or mean something that deeply...
Jay Reatard 1980-2010: You Will Be Missed
I suggest purchasing his debut under the moniker “Jay Reatard” called Blood Visions (9.0). Uncut, first draft, and unpolished compared to his later work, Watch Me Fall (8.5) the latter in which was his final (there could be some cuts for a comp to be released posthumously).
Figure of Punk
Jay Reatard launched his career into the Memphis Garage Punk scene with his label signing to...
YayYayYay New Joanna Newsom Album!
Let’s hope for a tour
YES YES YES YES YES
Spoon Lash Out In The '10's
Best Track: “The Mystery Zone”
Rating: As last week, read my comments *hint an argument* *hint a bias* and make up your own goddamn rating.
Pictured Dialogue Surrounding The Return of Spoon
Hey, Spoon are back in the scene. Oh really? Yeah. Surprising. What do you mean? Well, in the scene? Have they really been out? Have we missed them? I suppose. It’s a new record. Oh,...
My Thoughts On "Contra"
Favorite Song: “White Sky”
If I gave this a rating: I don’t want this to rely on the essay. So you get none. After a first impression of giving into the fan base and losing integrity, after repeated listens I have to admit that there are some distinctly awesome tracks. My overbearing cynicism and craving for something a bit underground stood in the way of me admiring this...
NO MORE EGO TRIPPING
Purely (say, can it ever be) artistic purposes. And so I write…
